Demo reel updated
Monday, November 23rd, 2009Handyman – Final
Thursday, November 19th, 2009Completed render of the Handyman motion test. This rig came out really well, and this kind of rig test was an interesting animation exercise. The Handyman himself is a rather bulky character, especially with his very large mallet arm, so maneuvering him against the wall was tricky.
Handyman – Dailies (3)
Wednesday, November 18th, 2009Final revisions on the Handyman animation. All that’s left is to do a full render.
Handyman – Dailies (2)
Wednesday, November 18th, 2009Today’s dailies on the Handyman. Today I spent most of my time on in-betweens and I think I’ve got it done. I’ve got a critique on this in the morning.
New Project/Dailies – The Handyman
Monday, November 16th, 2009I’ve started developing an animation clip/motion test of the Handyman character that I designed, modeled, and rigged from scratch. I’m pretty pleased with how it’s coming along; the bulky proportions of this character make it difficult but very interesting to work with. The latter part of the animation still needs some refinement, and I also need to key in the facial expressions.
Pixar interview
Sunday, November 15th, 2009This past Friday I had an interview with Pixar down in Savannah. It was a very exciting opportunity to show them my work. I spoke with Shawn Krause and received some excellent feedback on my demo reel that I’ll be incorporating in time for their next visit in Spring. It really was inspiring to hear the best people in the industry say they enjoyed my work. Thank you Pixar for the invitation!
Squoosh – Final
Thursday, November 12th, 2009Finalized version of the Squoosh animation. Changes from the last update include tweaking the earlier parts of the lipsync and adjusting the timing for eye movements to feel more natural.
Youtube channel updated
Thursday, November 12th, 2009I’ve added the individual clips from my demo reel onto my Youtube page. These will be added to the portfolio section of my website shortly. In the meantime, please visit my Youtube channel if you’d like to view them.
Squoosh dailies
Monday, November 9th, 2009More updates on Smoosh. It only needs very minor tweaks at the very beginning and end now with the lipsync. The model didn’t come with a surface shader so I put together a simple one that would work well with a 3-point lighting rig.
Squoosh Dailies
Monday, November 2nd, 2009Updates on Smoosh. I feel like this is really coming together now. I’ve shown this to some colleagues and it got a few laughs. All that’s left now is the actual lipsync and rendering.
